Dr. Crista Wallis
Dr. Wallis graduated Kansas State University in May 2000 and started practicing small animal and exotic animal medicine. She opened MAH in June of 2002 and has treated pets in the community since then. She loves spending time with her family and friends, salsa dancing, and enjoys dirt track racing with her family. She shares her home with 3 crazy JRT's and a black cat named Felipe!
Dr. Chris Pickett
Dr. Pickett has been with MAH part time for several years and has currently joined the team full time! She graduated from Kansas State Veterinary Scholl of Medicine and is a die hard KState supporter. She has three beautiful children who keep her very busy. She also has 2 fur babies Joey and Phoebe who keep her stress free at home.
Kayla Sandnes, rVT
Kayla is our registered veterinary technician. She has been with MAH since 2014. She graduated Colby Community College with an associates degree in Veterinary Nursing in September 2019. She loves assisting and helping make the pets we serve better. She enjoys painting and doing crafts as well as spending time with her family and her adorable Lhasapoo, Jules!
Brianna Renn, CSR
Hi i’m Brianna! I am so excited to be the newest addition to the MAH team! I have been working with animals for the past 3 years, and it has truly become a passion of mine! I love being in a field where I get to care for animals and support the people who love them. At home, I’m kept busy with my 2 spunky pugs, Eleanor Rigby and Luna June who make everyday an adventure! When i’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family and staying active with hot pilates!”
Delisa Bouchard, groomer
Delisa has been grooming since 2006 and has been with MAH since 2008. She is very passionate about grooming and absolutely loves taking care of client's pets. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors and going to the movies. She loves her chaotic furry family: two pugs Negan and Nova, and a yorkie mix Coraline.
Mikhaila Newton, Receptionist
Mikhaila has been working for MAH since mid 2021 and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. She has been volunteering/working in the animal industry for 11 years. She loves helping people and their pets. In her spare time she cohabitates with her furry cat family, can be found at the park with her dog, or fostering kittens for a rescue group.
Jenny Lofvenberg, Receptionist
Jenny has lived in Shawnee since 1986 and started working at MAH in November 2018. She has always had a deep seeded passion for all animals. She has 12 birds, a cat, 2 lizards, a mule, and one silly terrier named Newton. She feels lucky to be a part of the staff at MAH.
Jacinta McKevery, Receptionist
Jacinta is our newest member of the team and we are so lucky to have her. She has been married for 33 yrs; and she has 2 daughters – Jourdan and Kierra and a son in law Eddie. She also lives with 2 dogs – Zeke and Taco, 4 turtles and currently have 2 cats and 1 dog living here as well. She enjoys tennis, traveling and gardening in her spare time.
Celestine Casaus, Veterinary assistant
Celestine has worked for MAH off and on throughout her college career and now resides and works full time in Shawnee, KS. She is a new mom with the most beautiful baby boy, Corbin. She also shares her life with her husband Colby and two cats Oliver and Nehemia.
